Member Order Screen Updates

Enhancements to the National Mahjongg League’s Member Order Portal
November 2018

The Member Order Portal has been enhanced to improve response times and simplify the process of managing all aspects of a member order. Collectors will now see the following changes:

  • Instead of all members in the order listed, you will only see 30 members visible at a time on the screen. This lets us display and update data much faster than before.
  • The list will always be sorted by last name and first name, even after adding a member or removing one.
  • There are buttons to navigate the pages: First page, previous page, next page, last page.
  • You can also type in a page number to go directly to it.
  • There is a new search option on the page – if you type in a member number, it will go directly to that member and show the page. If you type in a few letters of the last name, the page where that name is found will be displayed. Just make sure you press [ENTER] to start the search either way.
  • You can now remove a member from the order just by clicking the [REMOVE] button on that row – you will be prompted to confirm your removal; as a safeguard, you can’t remove a member unless their order quantities are zero. Please note that this only removes the member from the order, and does not delete them from the overall member list.
  • Recently added or modified lines are displayed with a green background for visual confirmation. This way you can see which members you’ve worked with recently, in case you have to pause your work and resume later.
  • When adding a new member from scratch who does NOT have an email address, the system will check to see if that person’s name and zip code already exists on file; if so, it’s a duplicate, and you will be notified.
  • Totals for card counts and order cost update in real time in the top of the page.
  • The top menu options have changed slightly – we have eliminated the “REMOVE MEMBER” (that is now done in-line) and re-aligned the spacing and positions of the other links.
  • When you make changes to lines on a page, you must click on [SAVE THIS ORDER AND CONTINUE] to save the page changes before attempting to go to another page. This is better than the old way, where you could update hundreds of member order lines, and if something went wrong before you could save, you would lose all that work. Because you are only saving 30 rows at a time, this process is fairly quick.
These enhancements were implemented in response to feedback from our collector community. We needed to make the process faster (especially for those collectors with a large number of members) and easier to use for everyone.
